Dance Flow Therapy™ (DFT™) is a unique form of dance therapy created by our Founder and Chief Therapist, Vincent Yong, drawing on over four decades of research and practice in Flow.
Rooted in his book “Flow – The Art of Creating Abundance,” DFT™ translates these principles into a powerful somatic experience.
An interdisciplinary approach to self-love and empowerment, DFT™ integrates best practices from professional dance, somatic movement therapy, Laban Movement Analysis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, engineering, and more. Message From Our Founder,
Vincent Yong
When I was in my late teens, I discovered the life-changing effects of dancing. It brought me back to how I had survived my childhood (traumatic experiences from my medical to domestic issues) with “rhythmic movements”. They were my innate way to unknowingly regulate stressors! (More of the background will be shared in classes.)
After winning a dance competition in my tertiary engineering education, I followed my heart to do dance as a profession. However, it was met with scorn, dissuasion, mockery and judgement. I was even questioned if I was gay!
All that from just wanting to dance… If you had ever wanted to do something different and lived a different life but was laughed and mocked into being your old self again, PAUSE right here. You can redesign your life. You can choreograph a new way to think and feel by engaging with the resources that lie inside of you.
